The White Oak Initiative is a collaboration working to ensure the long-term sustainability of America’s white oak and the economic, social and conservation benefits derived from white oak dominated forest.
The white oak genetics project is a collaborative effort to develop high quality white oaks (Quercus alba) for reforestation throughout the eastern US. Through this effort we will also improve our knowledge about the genetic characteristics and potentials of white oak.
The initiative is supported by two coordinated USFS landscape scale restoration (LSR) grants and significant private and state financial contributions. Staff from the American Forest Foundation and the University of Kentucky are directly advancing the work of the White Oak Initiative.

White Oak Initiative Stakeholder Feedback Presentations
Please join us for one of the White Oak Initiative Stakeholder Feedback Presentations where we will share initial findings from the White Oak Assessment and Conservation Plan with you. The goal of these presentations are to:
- Identify important topic areas to either include in the Assessment or investigate further through the Conservation Plan.
- Solicit comments, suggestions, and concerns around key takeaways and conclusions in the Assessment.
- Solicit reactions and ideas in response to the Assessment as we begin to develop the framework for the Conservation Plan based off both the information presented in the Assessment and the stakeholder’s own knowledge and experiences.
There are two rounds of presentations and we ask that you pick one to register for, by clicking one of the dates below and filling out the registration page:
If you are unable to join the webinar, do not worry – we will follow-up with all registrants afterward to share the recording of presentation. We will also ask all registrants to fill out a Stakeholder Feedback Survey which will be sent to you via email along with the recording. Click on the link next to the date you would like to attend to register! Please reach out to email@example.com if you have any questions regarding registration. We look forward to presenting to you and hearing your feedback!
